Krista began dancing at an early age in Illinois where she spent the majority of her time training in a multitude of genres. She dove into the competitive realm at age 10 and continued into her sophomore year of college under the instruction of Ted Jackson. In college, she studied and performed with Northern Illinois Dance Theatre under the instruction of Randy Newsom, Paula Frasz and Judith Chitwood where she developed a much deeper appreciation for ballet and modern. In 2009, she graduated with a BA in English which allowed her to work in education for several years, a couple of them spent in St. Louis pursuing her Masters in Education. Never one to stay away for too long, she began managing competitive teams in Illinois and Wisconsin in her free time, as well as working as a freelance choreographer until transitioning to Austin to pursue a career in dance. Since moving to Austin in 2015, she has danced with such companies as Verge, Andrea Torres Dance Company and Reverence. She is thrilled to be a a part of such a welcoming and inspiring community that facilitates her own artistic growth so that she can share that with ADA family.
