Laurel Seymour has been a freelance choreographer and guest teacher for dance teams, companies and conventions across Texas. This is her 5th year as a part of the Alisa’s Dance Academy staff where she is a choreographer and instructor for Austin’s Dance Elite pre-professional company in addition to her energy filled and hard working technique classes. Laurel is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where she attained a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Dance and a Minor in Business Foundations. While earning her degree she was a member of the Texas touring Image Dance Explosion, the Texas Pom Squad and the Roustabouts Dance Company when they competed to secure the National Collegiate Championship title at UNT Nationals. Laurel has extensive training in ballet, contemporary, lyrical and jazz. Having studied and performed in not only the great state of Texas, but also New York, California and Florida, Laurel’s experiences and training are reflected in her technical proficiency and diverse choreography. Her choreography has been honored with numerous outstanding and national awards. While she is not currently performing with a particular company, Laurel continues to stay tapped into Austin’s adult dance community by taking class and supporting her former company members in Verge Dance Company and Reverence Dance Company.
